50th anniversary reissue of photographer Harry Benson's intimate portraits of RFK on holiday with his family through the campaign for the presidency to the horrific assassination at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angles followed by the funeral in New York and the train ride to Washington DC for burial next to his brother. Harry is the only photographer to have covered the entire assassination and was the last person to leave the kitchen that night . Text is from Harry's own journals from 1968 accompanied by excerpts from RFK's speeches.
