Entry Description

Federal Triangle looks at Washington, DC, from a perspective that reflects the “paranoid style”—a tendency to imagine conspiracies lurking around every corner. Titled after a government complex extending from the Capitol to the White House, the work describes a world both banal and full of intrigue. Ambiguous and sometimes darkly comical, the pictures invite projections. Everyday scenes are tinged with the possibility of violence and conspiracy. In this way, the work dramatizes the fear, doubt, and dysfunction that characterize this absurd and maddening moment in American political life.
