Here/Still/Now

Here/Still/Now is the product of twelve years of photographing in the west side of Chicago. This community, like every other swath of poverty in the US, is one we rarely pay attention to until something occurs there that lands on the front page. The real crisis, however, is one of acceptance - acceptance of the conditions that journalists only occasionally pay attention to. Though these photographs won’t change this neighborhood, they remind us that we are all connected, that the individuals in the images aren’t “they” or “them”, they are he and she and matter as much as any one of us.
